As time was running out in Pitt's 23-20 Saturday win over Louisville at Heinz Field, Louisville's redshirt senior quarterback Malik Cunningham suffered a scary injury on his last pass of the game.
After a hit from Pitt redshirt freshman defensive tackle Calijah Kancey, Cunningham could be seen looking to see the result of his pass, but then down and not moving for several minutes:

Cunningham would eventually be carted off the field, but would be seen giving a thumbs up for his teammates to see that he could move his extremities.

"Our prayers go out to Malik," Pat Narduzzi said after the game via Zoom. "Never like to see a game end like that with a minute and 15 or whatever is on the clock."
Louisville head coach Scott Satterfield noted that Cunningham did have feeling in all his extremities but further evaluation would be needed in his postgame press conference.
"It looked like he got his feet caught up underneath a couple defenders when he threw the football," Satterfield said after the game via Zoom. "The positive news is he was moving everything when he was moving on the ground. That's always positive. The medical team obviously takes every precaution they needed to take. That's why we took him in to further evaluate him. I have not gotten an update on that so everything else is speculation. But I do know that he was moving everything and had feeling everywhere in his body and all extremities, so that was positive."
Cameron Teague, Louisville football beat writer for the Courier Journal, reported Saturday evening that Cunningham was still going through checks with his team trainers, but that he was well enough to travel back to his campus with the team:
Have been told Malik Cunningham went through some checks with the trainers after the game and will continue to be evaluated by UofL over the next few days.

He did travel back with the team.
