It will be far from filled to capacity, but there will be fans in Heinz Field for the rivalry game between the Steelers and Browns Sunday.
Last Sunday was the first sporting event in Pittsburgh that had fans in the stands since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, following an adjustment in guidelines from Gov. Tom Wolf last week. About 4,700 fans were in attendance last week. The Steelers have five more regular season home games this season, including Sunday.
The guidelines for this week are very similar to what they were for that first game. Here is what you need to know:
• Self-evaluate, including the taking of temperature, before leaving home.
• Make sure that tickets are loaded onto phones or the Steelers' mobile app before arriving at the stadium.
• Tailgating is expressly forbidden in stadium lots, which won't open until 11 a.m. Open lots will be Gold 1, 2 and 4, as well as Red 7A, 7B and 7C, and Green 21. Gold 1 garage spots are available for pre-purchase.
• The North Shore T station closes at 1:15 p.m.
• Use the entrance that's the closest to the assigned seating section. Gates open at 11:30 a.m.
• Once inside, masks and physical distancing will be required at all times, with fans of the same party being asked to sit together.
• Alcohol sales will be shut down at the start of the third quarter.
Kickoff is scheduled for 1:02 p.m. Sunday. For more information, the Steelers ask fans to visit this link.
