Fans to be allowed at Louisville bubble games taken in Uptown (Duquesne)

LOUISVILLE ATHLETICS

KFC Yum! Center

Duquesne basketball fans looking to get an early in person glimpse of this year's team are in luck. Louisville athletics tells DK Pittsburgh sports that fans will be allowed to attend the contests at the KFC Yum! Center this season, including the non-conference bubble event that will feature the Dukes.

The University of Louisville has been permitted to allow up to 3,000 fans to attend games in the venue which seats 22,090 people. Tickets will first be made available to Louisville basketball season ticket holders.

According to a press release issued Wednesday afternoon, all seating will be within the lower bowl of the venue and multiple safety measures, including temperature checks, face covering requirements and physical distancing inside the arena will be enforced.

The event will accommodate eight to 12 teams, starting on Nov. 25 and ending on Dec. 5. Louisville athletics tells me the full schedule could be out as early as next week.

Duquesne basketball head coach Keith Dambrot confirmed to me earlier this month that the Dukes have committed to participate in the tournament, saying it met nearly all of the programs requirements.

"I thought it was the right choice because I thought it was the safest option for our guys," Dambrot said. "We don't have to get on a plane to do it and we will get to play some pretty good teams."

Dambrot and the Dukes were forced to pause team activities nearly two weeks ago due to someone within the program testing positive for COVID-19. A source close to the program tells me that all basketball activities are expected to resume this week.

Similar to many other programs, Duquesne has yet to release it's complete regular season schedule. Another source tells me that the schedule will soon be available once the Louisville athletics releases the final details on the non-conference bubble.
