Team Finland announced its roster for the Karjala Cup tournament on Thursday, and Penguins forward prospect Kasper Bjorkqvist was one of the 14 forwards who made the roster.
The Karjala Cup is an annual international tournament held in Finland that this year features the Finnish, Swedish, Russian, and Czech national teams. It's the first of four tournaments that comprise the Euro Hockey Tour, which functions as evaluation and preparation for the World Championship.
The Finns will play Russia on Thursday, the Czech Republic on Saturday, and Sweden on Friday.
Bjorkqvist, 23, leads KooKoo in scoring with four goals and five assists in eight games.
No other Penguins players made any of the other rosters for the tournament, but former Penguins prospect Linus Olund was named to Sweden's roster. Both brothers of Penguins prospect prospect Radim Zohorna, Tomas and Hynek, were named to the Czech roster.
