Inspired by our friends at Point Park University, we're making an unprecedented offer to our region's first responders.
If you're currently serving in the police force, the fire department or emergency medical services of Pittsburgh or any other city, town or municipality in Allegheny County and the five contiguous counties -- Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Washington, Westmoreland -- you can have a full-year subscription to DK Pittsburgh Sports for 80 CENTS!
But hurry: We're limiting this offer to 800, and we're expecting they'll be snapped up faster than Ray-Ray McCloud runs back a kick.
Also, and I can't stress this strongly enough: This is only for completely new subscribers. No renewals, extensions or comebacks, please.
Here's how it works:
2. Tap 'BECOME A MEMBER,' fill in the form, then tap 'CREATE ACCOUNT'
3. On the next screen, choose 'Annual' subscription, then tap 'PAY WITH CARD'
4. In the field marked 'Discount Code,' enter PPU2020
5. Enter your name as it appears on your credit card, then the card information itself, then tap 'SUBSCRIBE' ... and that's it!
We've always had a program for the military, and we recently had one for those serving on the coronavirus front lines, but we've never done this for the men and women of our communities who keep us safe and healthy. We're grateful to Point Park University for their support of everything we do, and we're grateful to everyone who'd accept this offer.
Thank you so much. Every day.
NEW HOME!
Not ready to share details yet, but we're constructing a new studio for Morning Java videos and DK Sports Radio podcasts!
It'll be the highest-grade setup we've had yet, and I'm super-excited about it. We'll begin design and furnishing the place, as well as soundproofing and all that, both before and after my trip to Baltimore this weekend. And we'll probably be recording in there within a week and change.
Just another tangible sign of how well the multimedia fare is working for us.
ABOUT DKPS+ MARKER
One final time, since we still have a few folks getting confused about this: If you see the new DKPS+ marker on content, and you're already a subscriber ... that's it, you're good to go!
The DKPS+ thing is just another name for being a subscriber. You're either a subscriber or you aren't. If you are, you get absolutely everything. There's no extra level, no upgrade.
So, if you have trouble logging in for whatever reason, it's only because you're having a login issue. In which case, email us at Help@DKPittsburghSports.com
PENN STATE? DUQUESNE?
As part of resuming full coverage of Penn State football and Duquesne basketball in 2020, we're making the full commitment. That means travel and everything. That's why Jarrod Prugar is traveling to cover the Nittany Lions and why we're expecting to do the same with the Dukes.
But ... we need help on these. I won't hide that. Eventually, that'll involve our subscribers coming through, primarily through reading and sharing but also, very soon, buying gift subscriptions we'll attach to each school. From there, it'll involve getting support from a sponsor for each one.
Who'll step up for Penn State?
Who'll step up for Duquesne?
Here's hoping that's your business. If it is, reach out directly to She Who Is Boss at Dali@DKPittsburghSports.com
MILITARY UPDATE
So, our Moon Golf Club Military Drive to 1,500 is at 1,190 as we approach Veterans Day on Nov. 11. We've got 310 to go, obviously.
If you'd like to contribute to veterans seeking a free annual subscription -- we take care of all active-duty ourselves -- those are $19.99 per veteran, or half-price. The only way to get those is to email me directly at DK@DKPittsburghSports.com
