With their offensive coordinator and tight ends coach now in place, the Steelers are zeroing in on hiring an offensive line coach next.

The team will meet with former Chargers, Browns and Packers assistant coach James Campen about the opening. The interview is expected to take place in Mobile, Ala., where much of the coaching staff is attending practices for the Senior Bowl.

Campen, 56, spent the 2020 season with the Chargers, where he served with new tight ends coach Alfredo Roberts, who was hired by the Steelers earlier this week. Prior to that, he spent the 2019 season as assistant head coach/offensive line coach with the Browns. From 2004 through 2018, he was an assistant coach with the Packers, moving from assistant offensive line coach to head offensive line coach and run game coordinator.

The Steelers let former offensive line coach Shaun Sarrett go at the end of the season. Previously, they interviewed Lions offensive line coach Hank Fraley for the position. Fraley chose to return to Detroit.

Earlier this week, the Steelers elevated quarterback coach Matt Canada to offensive coordinator.
