A report from Bruce Feldman indicated that Pitt is set to hire Brennan Marion as the team's wide receivers coach.
Marion comes with ties to the area, having played wide receiver at Greensburg Salem before he went on to play at Tulsa, and eventually with the Dolphins in the NFL.
He will replace Chris Beatty, who after two years left to be a receivers coach for the Los Angeles Chargers. Beatty developed a good reputation as a recruiter with Pat Narduzzi, especially for helping the Panthers' recruiting efforts in Virginia.
Marion remade himself as a coach bouncing between high schools and colleges from 2011 to 2016 until he became offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Howard for two seasons, and then at William and Mary for another two seasons before spending 2020 coaching Hawaii's wide receivers.
Marion will get his chance to work with a receiving group mixed with experience and talented youth. Jordan Addison was named to the ACC's All-Freshman team after his 60 receptions were the fourth-most in the ACC.
Other young receivers like sophomores Jaylon Barden and Will Gipson show promise, while returning seniors like Taysir Mack, Jared Wayne and even Tre Tipton, offer experience.
