BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Mike Sullivan isn't typically one to disclose lineup decisions ahead of time, and that was true after Saturday's morning skate ahead of the Penguins' game against the Sabres.
When I asked Sullivan if John Marino would be available for the game, Sullivan said, "all the players will be a game-time decision, John will be a part of that."
Marino first missed Wednesday's practice in Cranberry with what Sullivan called a maintenance day at the time. Marino took part in the Penguins' optional morning skate on Thursday in Buffalo, but did not play in the game. Sullivan said after the game that Marino was day-to-day with an upper-body injury. Marino didn't take part in Friday's practice, and Sullivan said then that his status hadn't changed.
One lineup decision that Sullivan will disclose ahead of time is his starting goaltender.
Tonight, the Penguins turn to Casey DeSmith in net.
DeSmith has a 5-2 record in eight appearances this season, a .901 save percentage and a 2.52 goals-against average. His last start was on March 7 against the Rangers, when he stopped 23 of 24 shots in a win.
