Good morning!
And good ... everything of late, it seems, right?
Any year that follows 2020 is bound to be a bounceback year, so 2021 begins with the lowest of bars. At the same time, it's still worth embracing, I'd say, that things are very much looking up. On the health front. On the economic front. And, nearest to my heart, on the civic front in and around the Golden Triangle, where people are now resuming semi-normal activity, businesses are re-opening, and actual smiles are part of the scene again.
What's that mean for sports?
Well, that's this week's Brewing question: Do you believe we'll see a resurgence in fan interest in buying tickets to see sporting events -- not just Steelers, Penguins or Pirates, but anything locally -- because people will just want to get out again? Or do you believe some longer-term damage has been done?
• If you missed it over the weekend, our Curtis Pharmacy Site Stuff introduced our new live video/podcast I'll be hosting every weekday at 1:30 p.m.!
• If you're new to this app/site, welcome! As much as we value our existing and/or longtime readers, we never lose sight of the importance of adding more. And that those who arrive might need a helping hand to show them around. Please consider this file that hand. There's some vital information below and answers to some of the most common questions we've gotten from newcomers over the years. And if that isn't enough, by all means, feel free to email us at Help@DKPittsburghSports.com!
• Learn about our site's pioneering history. We were the first company of its kind anywhere in North America, and we're proud to having inspired similar ventures across the continent and even overseas.
• Download our free, state-of-the-art app: Apple or Android. These were custom-built, meaning completely from scratch, in 2020.
• Every weekday, on our reborn podcasting network, I offer up three DK's Daily Shot shows, one each on Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. Each Tuesday, our longstanding flagship video program, Morning Java, is available here on the site and on all social media platforms.
