Adeniyi signs with Titans taken on the South Side (Steelers)

Bud Dupree won't be alone in adjusting from the Steelers' defense to the Titans' next season.

That's because Ola Adeniyi signed a one-year contract with Tennessee on Monday. Adeniyi had played for the Steelers the past three seasons after being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2018. But, as reported by Dale Lolley, the three-year edge defender was allowed to enter free agency after the Steelers opted to sign Robert Spillane on Mar. 13.

Adeniyi, 23, finished his time with the Steelers playing 32 games with one start, recording ten tackles, 14 special-teams stops and three forced fumbles. Adeniyi flashed potential in the 2018 and 2019 preseasons, but never took the step to be a consistent contributor on defense. He was jumped on the depth chart by rookie Alex Highsmith in 2020, and again by Cassius Marsh later in the that season when Dupree was injured.
