RICHMOND, Va. -- Considering how often the trade winds have blown in the Penguins’ favor over the decades, it seems only fair that there’d be an egregious stinker in the bunch… and Markus Naslund for Alex Stojanov certainly fits the bill, not only for worst trade in franchise history, but among the worst in NHL history.
You could easily make the case for the Jaromir Jagr trade being worse, and yeah, it probably was…but that was a trade that had to be made, and was going to be made, no matter what, not an honest attempt to improve the team that would only later come to resemble grand larceny.
