The Steelers have informed their season ticket holders that prices won't be going up in 2021 according to a team spokesman.
The Steelers will keep their ticket prices the same as they were since the team's last increase in 2018.
This move goes against what's happening elsewhere in the league, as a number of teams have announced increases in the hopes of helping to make up for lost revenue from a 2020 season in which half the teams in the league operated at decreased capacity in their stadiums while others had no fans at all due to the pandemic.
The Steelers had just 15,877 total -- not average per game -- fans at Heinz Field in 2020 due to restrictions put in place by state and local officials.
Despite the NFL's increase from 16 to 17 games in 2021, which was approved last week, the Steelers' season ticket package will still include just 10 games. The Steelers will host nine regular season games -- against the Ravens, Browns, Bengals, Broncos, Raiders, Bears, Lions, Titans and Seahawks -- and one preseason game this year. Previously, teams would play eight regular season home games and two preseason games.
Also new this year, season ticket holders will only receive their tickets electronically. Previously, they also could choose to receive them in paper form.
