Aaron Donald, the NFL's reigning Defensive Player of the Year, could be facing criminal charges.

Local attorney Todd Hollis told DKPittsburghSports that his client, DeVincent Spriggs, alleges he was assaulted by Donald in an after hours night club called the Boom Boom Room on Carson Street of the South Side of Pittsburgh on April 11.

Hollis said that Spriggs and Donald had an incident that led to Donald allegedly attacking Spriggs, leading to him getting several injuries, including a concussion, broken eye socket, broken nose, lacerations on his head and body, as well and needed 16 stitches for a cut on his right eye. Spriggs filed a report on the incident with the Pittsburgh Police around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday morning:

Spriggs isn't a resident of Pittsburgh, but has been working a temporary job in the area.

Donald, 29, grew up in Pittsburgh, graduating from Penn Hills High School before becoming a superstar defensive tackle for Pitt's football program. He would earn several awards in 2013, including ACC Defensive Player of the Year, the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Chuck Bednarik Award, and voted as a Unanimous All-American.

His college career got him picked by the Rams as the 13th overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft. Since then Donald has amassed many accolades, including Defensive Rookie of the Year, being announced to seven Pro Bowls and six First-team All Pro bids, as well as earning Defensive Player of the Year for a third time in 2020. That ties the NFL record set by J.J. Watt.

At this time, Spriggs' attorney informs DKPittsburghSports that his client will wait for the criminal process to play out before exploring any options in civil court.
