Jake Guentzel's goal at the 4:03 mark of the third period opened the scoring in Sunday's matchup between the Penguins and Bruins at PPG Paints Arena.
It was the only goal they'd need.
The Penguin beat the Bruins 1-0 in the first in the two-game series, with Tristan Jarry earning the 30-save shutout, the sixth shutout of his career. It was the Penguins' fourth win in a row.
The win put the Penguins back in first place in the East Division by one point, leapfrogging the Capitals again after the Capitals won last night. The Penguins now have 67 points, the Capitals have 66, and the Islanders have 63, with the Capitals and Islanders each having a game in hand.
The Capitals and Islanders are off in their series until Tuesday, so the Penguins will hold their spot at the top of the division for at least the next two days.
