At long last, Brennan Malone, made his organizational debut Saturday night. Malone, who came to the Pirates in the Starling Marte trade along with Liover Peguero last January, had been unable to pitch this season due to a blister on his throwing hand.

The No. 33 overall pick in 2019 was one of four pitchers to contribute to a combined no-hitter against Dunedin on Saturday. He worked around a walk and a hit batsman with a double play to complete his lone inning in the sixth.

During his short minor league career, in which he pitched for two short-season teams in the D-backs system in 2019, Malone has allowed four runs over nine total innings. He was a focal point in the trade with Arizona as a high-upside righty with a four-pitch mix, and it will be interesting to see how things play out for him now that he's healthy.

ELSEWHERE

• The Marauders' no-hitter was done in a very unconventional manner as they needed four pitchers -- none of which threw more than three innings -- to complete the milestone.

Cameron Junker and Wandi Montout carried the heaviest workload, pitching three innings and striking out a combined seven Blue Jays hitters. Malone tossed his scoreless frame while Jose Maldonado started the game and struck out four over the first two innings.

The effort even caught the eye of the big-league skipper Derek Shelton who joked around about the no-hitter after being ejected from the Pirates' walk-off win in the eighth inning.

"Let's throw out some congratulations to the Bradenton club [for its] no-hitter. That's why I wanted to leave early, so I could check the box score. That's really cool. Anytime you do that, that's awesome so congratulations to that group."

• Altoona has now won seven games in a row with Saturday night's win being boosted by a Josh Bissonette double which scored catcher Arden Pabst to put the Curve up in the 10th inning. Bissonette would be brought around by way of two wild pitches to help Altoona win 6-5 against Binghamton.

Jared Triolo had two hits, scored a run and notched an RBI for Greensboro in the Grasshoppers' victory over the Rome on Friday night. Nick Gonzales added an RBI while centerfielder Matt Gorski added three hits, two runs and two RBIs to help Greensboro take down the Braves.
