Jeff Capel and Pitt has been busy tallying up plenty of visits since the dead period ended in early June.

Four-star and three-star prospects have visited Pitt this month, being some of the first to see the city when talking to Capel ever since visits were shut down in early 2020.

Cam Whitmore is a four-star forward out of Maryland and Alphonzo Billups is a three-star small forward out of Virginia, each of the 2022 class. Whitmore is leaning more to staying home and committing to Maryland while Billups is favoring Pitt according to Rivals

But could Pitt's best answers for the future of building the program back be found outside the U.S.?

The last time Pitt had an elite NBA talent that went in the first round was Steven Adams from New Zealand back in 2012 before he went professional after one season with the Panthers to be drafted 12th overall by the Thunder.

Right now, Capel's only international player is Max Amadasun from Dublin, Ireland. He's a young center who needs to develop, but he's also the tallest player on the roster at 6-foot-10. After a struggling freshman year, Amadasun has put work in during the offseason that's earned praise from Capel:

But could Pitt serve to take advantage of more international players?

Capel does have international players on his radar. Pitt has offered 6-foot-11 center Christ Essandoko playing in Winston-Salem, N.C., but is originally from Paris, France.

But maybe opening up to more of those recruits could help Capel turn things around. Not necessarily in a way that flips the roster, but find two or three more prospects to build their roster.

YOUR TAKE: Should Capel prioritize getting Pitt more international talent?
