Adam Frazier got a hit and Bryan Reynolds joined him the National League’s starting lineup, but the American League came out victorious in the All-Star Game Tuesday night at Coors Field, 5-2.

Fraizer went 1-for-2 with a single. Reynolds put a charge into a ball that reached the wall in right-center in the third inning, but it was hauled in by Aaron Judge. Reynolds went 0-for-2 on the night.

It was both players’ first All-Star game. Frazier won the fan vote to earn a starting job at second base. Reynolds was voted in via the player vote, and after Ronald Acuña Jr. of the Braves tore his ACL trying to make a catch Saturday, Reynolds was slid into the starting nine.

Reynolds batted eighth and Frazier ninth. Both players were lifted in the top of the sixth.

It was the first time the Pirates sent multiple position players to the All-Star game since Andrew McCutchen and Josh Harrison went in 2014.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Blue Jays was named the game’s most valuable player hitting a titanic home run to left in the third inning. He also drove in another via a groundout in the fifth. At 22, he is the youngest player ever to be the All-Star Game’s MVP.

Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani was hitless in his two trips to the plate as a hitter, but pitched a 1-2-3 inning in the first and was awarded the win.

Catchers JT Realmuto of the Phillies and Mike Zunino of the Rays were the other players to homer.

Max Scherzer got the nod for the NL and pitched a 1-2-3 frame with a strikeout. Liam Hendricks of the White Sox got the save.

It is the eighth straight time the AL has won, and its 20th win out of the last 24 All-Star games.

The AL leads the all-time series 46-43-2.
