COLUMBUS, Ohio —Dwayne Haskins reportedly had a tooth knocked out in a domestic dispute involving his wife while the couple was in Las Vegas two weeks ago.

Kalabrya Gondrezick-Haskins has been charged with domestic battery in connection with a July 3 altercation at The Cosmopolitan, according to KLAS-8 in Las Vegas, which obtained the arrest report. Haskins, who’s battling for the Steelers’ backup quarterback spot with Mason Rudolph, told police the couple has had verbal arguments in the past, but none had turned physical.

Haskins informed the hotel’s security staff that he wanted Gondrezick-Haskins out of his room because she punched him and cut his lip, the television’s website reported. The couple had been in Las Vegas for a wedding with other friends.

The 24-year-old quarterback was treated for facial injuries at a Las Vegas hospital. Part of the tooth was found in a room at the hotel. Gondrezick-Haskins posted bail, and is expected to appear in court on Aug. 3, according to the report.

Haskins, the No. 15 overall pick in the 2019 draft, is looking for a fresh start in Pittsburgh after being released by the Washington Football Team midway through last season.

“My expectation here is to make everyone who decided to take a chance on me look good and work as hard as I can and let my work speak for itself,” Haskins said last month during minicamp at Heinz Field. “I want to be able to take after (Ben Roethlisberger). But that comes in due time. They expect a lot out of me, as far as being prepared and being the best version of myself. That’s what they want out of me and let my actions speak for themselves.”
