The Penguins re-signed one of their pending unrestricted free agents shortly before free agency opened on Wednesday.

The Penguins signed forward Evan Rodrigues to a one-year contract worth $1 million, a source confirmed to DK Pittsburgh Sports.

The signing brings a raise for Rodrigues, who made the league-minimum $700,000 on the one-year deal he signed last offseason.

Rodrigues, who turns 28 today, appeared in 35 games last season for the Penguins, scoring seven goals and seven assists. He recorded one assist in two postseason games, skating on the Penguins' third line with Jason Zucker and Freddy Gaudreau for Games 1 and 2.
