PNC Park.

Major League Baseball released their 2022 schedules Wednesday afternoon, and for the first time since 2016, the Pirates will start the season at home.

The Cardinals will come to PNC Park March 31 for a three-game set to open the season. The Pirates will then embark on a seven-game road trip against the Reds and Cardinals to follow.

In April, the Pirates will visit each of their National League Central rivals once. They will close the series in St. Louis against the Cardinals Sept. 30-Oct. 2.

In interleague play, the Pirates will be taking on teams from the American League East primarily. Going based on the normal rotation, they should have faced the AL West this year. Their scheduled games against the AL East in 2020 were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and MLB revising schedules to only play opponents within the division or teams from the opposite league’s same division.

The Yankees will come to PNC Park for a two-game series on July 5 and 6. The Red Sox will come for a three-game set form August 16-18, as will the Blue Jays from Sept. 2-4..

On the road, the Pirates will face the Rays from June 24-26, the Orioles from August 5-7 and the Yankees Sept. 20 and 21.

They will also play their traditional home-and-home with the Tigers. The Pirates will travel to Comerica Park on May 3 and 4, and will play host to them June 7 and 8.

The Pirates’ final home game is Sept. 28 against the Reds.

The 2022 All-Star Game will take place in Los Angeles at Dodgers Stadium on July 19.

Most start times, including for Opening Day, have yet to be announced.
