Claypool OK after practice scare taken at Heinz Field (Steelers)

The Steelers got a big scare late in their practice Tuesday when wide receiver Chase Claypool went down in a heap and needed to be helped from the field.

While Mike Tomlin said Claypool was still being evaluated after practice, Claypool tweeted out that he's fine.

Claypool suffered a sprained ankle on the play on which he caught a pass down the sideline from Dwayne Haskins. Team trainers and a doctor who happened to be on hand immediately ran to check him out, as did Ben Roethlisberger.

Roethlisberger and tight end Eric Ebron then helped the 6-4, 238-pound wide receiver to the locker room.

It marked the second time in this preseason that Claypool has gotten nicked up. He suffered a slight hip injury and did not return after landing hard following a 45-yard catch in the Hall of Fame game Aug. 5.

Claypool is coming off a rookie season in which he caught 62 passes for 873 yards and nine touchdowns. He also scored a pair of rushing touchdowns, finishing tied for the most touchdowns scored in the NFL by a rookie last season.
