After a year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Da Beauty League is back in action this summer.

Da Beauty League, established in 2015, is a summer league based in Minnesota for professional and college hockey players.

The 2021 season began on July 14, with six teams playing four-on-four games once a week in July, and twice a week in August. Wednesday was the final day of the regular season. Playoffs begin next week, when teams will be competing for the John Scott Cup, named for the MVP of the 2016 All-Star game.

The Penguins have three players participating this season -- Jake Guentzel on Team Walser, and Jason Zucker and defense prospect Clayton Phillips on Team Tradition.

Guentzel and Zucker each had clutch goals for their teams in Wednesday's set of games.

Zucker's Team Tradition went to overtime against Team Jimmy John's, and Zucker scored this highlight-reel goal:

Teams need two overtime goals to win in the league, and Zach Parise completed the win for Team Tradition.

Guentzel's Team Walser went to overtime against Team Bic in the next game, and Guentzel scored the first overtime goal for his team:

Team Bic tied the game to force a shootout. The shootout went all the way through the lineups for both teams and circled back around to Guentzel, who scored the winner for Team Walser:

Guentzel has five goals and eight assists in five games this season, having missed four games after getting married this month. Zucker has played in four of his team's nine games, and has five goals and three assists. Phillips has 10 assists in seven games.

The Islanders' Brock Nelson, who is teammates with Guentzel on Team Walser, leads the league in scoring this year with 16 goals and 13 assists in eight games. The Rangers' K'Andre Miller, who plays for Team Jimmy John's, ranks second with 13 goals and 13 assists in nine games.

Guentzel's Team Walser is first in the league with a 5-2-2 record. Zucker and Phillips' Team Tradition ranks fourth with a 4-4-1 record.

The John Scott Cup semifinal round will be on Aug. 23, with games at 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Eastern. The championship game will be held on Aug. 25 at 8 p.m. Eastern.

Da Beauty League has a paid online streaming program, which can be found here.
