The Steelers added 15 players to their practice squad Wednesday afternoon, including a pair of former NFL starters at safety and wide receiver.

Safety Karl Joseph and wide receiver Steven Sims were among the players added.

Joseph, a former West Virginia star, was a first-round draft pick of the Raiders in 2016. He spent the 2020 season with the Browns after signing a one-year deal with Cleveland but was re-signed by the Raiders following the year. Joseph was among players released by Las Vegas Tuesday.

Sims, a formerly with Washington, appeared in 32 games the previous two seasons, making four starts. He has 68 career receptions for 575 yards and five touchdowns. Sims had four catches for 17 yards working out of the slot for Washington against the Steelers last season.

Also signed were NFL veterans in guard Malcolm Pridgeon, linebackers Derrek Tuszka and Christian Miller and defensive end Daniel Archibong.

The Steelers also re-signed wide receivers Rico Bussey and Cody White, running backs Trey Edmunds and Jaylen Samuels, offensive linemen Chaz Green and John Leglue, tight end Kevin Rader and defensive backs Mark Gilbert and Donovan Stiner. All had been with the Steelers in training camp.

The Steelers have one remaining spot available on their practice squad.
