The Steelers' injury list earlier this week looked like a who's who of the team's roster, causing the betting line in their game Sunday at Heinz Field to make some major moves.
Thursday, things started to look a little better.
Ben Roethlisberger, T.J. Watt, Devin Bush and Joe Haden all were at least partial participants Thursday as the Steelers (1-1) took a major step toward fielding a much more representative team Sunday against the Bengals (1-1).
Roethlisberger sat out Wednesday's practice with a left pectoral injury, but was able to work as a partial participant Thursday. He is expected to play against the Bengals, with his issue mostly being pain tolerance when throwing the ball.
Watt, Bush and Haden all are dealing with groin injuries.
Watt left last week's 26-17 loss to the Raiders in the second quarter was a partial participant Wednesday. He was again a partial participant Thursday, but the fact he was able to participate two days in a row is a positive sign.
Bush was a full participant for the second consecutive day, while Haden bumped up to full .
Both Bush and Haden suffered their groin injuries at the Steelers' final practice last Friday before they played the Raiders.
The injury news wasn't all rosy for the Steelers. Leading receiver Diontae Johnson (knee) missed his second consecutive practice, while linebacker Alex Highsmith (groin) also missed practice for the second straight day. Safety Marcus Allen (abdomen) was added to the injury list as a non-participant, while Justin Layne was downgraded to not practicing Thursday because of an Achilles' tendon injury after being a partial participant Wednesday.
