Each week, our football staff at DK Pittsburgh Sports predicts the Steelers' game. Here are this week's picks for the first of six AFC North games this season versus the Bengals, tomorrow, 1:02 p.m., at Heinz Field.
For a full preview, check my Kickoff.
Dale Lolley (0-2): The Steelers will be more multiple in their offensive looks this week with Diontae Johnson sidelined. I would expect to see multiple tight ends sets. And even fullback Derek Watt on the field. They need to do whatever is necessary to kick start this offense, which has scored 7 first half points in two games. I would expect that to happen. And the Bengals' offensive line is every bit the issue of that of the Steelers. Joe Burrow has been sacked five times in each of his first two games this season. Steelers, 24-17
Ramon Foster (1-1): The better team is Pittsburgh, and I always expect the Steelers to bounce back after a loss. This game is an AFC North opponent, and making the playoffs is made first by winning your division! Steelers, 28-17
Tom Reed (0-2): There’s no such thing as a must-win Week 3 game. But a loss to the Bengals would send the Steelers to Green Bay staring down the barrel of a 1-3 start. Pittsburgh does just enough to avert disaster. Steelers, 17-16
Chris Carter (0-2): If you think the Steelers have problems protecting Ben Roethlisberger, the Bengals are on a different level in Burrow. That plays right into this defense's strength. And having Devin Bush back will help them stop Joe Mixon. Steelers, 26-13
Eddie Provident (1-1): I've learned my lesson picking the Steelers to score 30 points. I don't see a lot of offense Sunday. The Steelers defense will get after Joe Burrow and the offense will continue to sputter, but they'll do just enough. Steelers, 17-10
Dejan Kovacevic (0-2): I see more talent on the Pittsburgh side, even without T.J., but I've yet to see an offensive scheme -- or execution -- to convince me that this event will be anything a ball-bouncing, bizarre ... victory? Hey, who loses two in a row to the Bengals? Steelers, 19-15
