Penguins forward prospect Lukas Svejkovsky is off to a hot start in the WHL with the Medicine Hat Tigers.
Svejkovsky, the Penguins' fourth-round pick in 2020 scored six goals and one assist in his first three games of the season.
Svejkovsky opened the scoring for the Tigers on Saturday with an even-strength goal, one of his seven shots on goal in the game:
He also scored his team's only goal in the shootout to secure the 3-2 win:
Svejkovsky was a factor in all four of his team's goals on Friday in a 4-2 win. He scored three even strength goals of his own off of five shots, and picked up a secondary assist on a power play goal:
Svejkovsky scored the Tigers' only two goals in a 3-2 loss in the season-opener, taking six shots on goal in the game:
Svejkovsky opened the season as a right wing but has been moved to center in the last two games. He's just under a 50 percent success rate in the faceoff circle, winning 30 of 63 draws.
Penguins director of player development Scott Young called the 5-foot-9, 170-pound Svejkovsky "a little slight" but "loaded with talent" during the Penguins' recent prospect development camp.
"His skill level is something we're really excited about," Young added.
