Welch's sends Carter free fruit snacks

Whenever the Penguins go on a road trip, the Penguins' team social media accounts share a few pictures of the players in their suits heading to the plane.

When the Penguins shared a couple of pictures on Monday as players were departing for the Florida road trip, this shot of Jeff Carter was included in the batch:

Now I don't know about you, but when I saw that on Monday, my eyes immediately went to the giant bag of fruit snacks in the grocery bag:

A couple of fans took notice as well, and posts like these were circulating social media:

I ran into Carter in the hallway after the Penguins' win in Tampa Bay in the season opener and asked about the fruit snacks, and he laughed and said that he ate the whole bag in the first five minutes on the plane.

Maybe it was because of all of the social media memes, maybe it was because of Carter's milestone 400th career goal on Thursday, but the people at Welch's took notice of Carter's love for fruit snacks and offered to restock his stash for the Penguins' future road trips:
