The Penguins have assigned defenseman P.O Joseph to their farm team in Wilkes-Barre.
Joseph, 22, is widely regarded as the Penguins' top defense prospect, but has not played in an NHL game this season after appearing in 16 in 2020-21.
His departure could indicate that Mike Matheson, who missed the first three games of this season because of an unspecified lower-body injury, is getting closer to rejoining the lineup.
