Marcus Petterson and Chad Ruhwedel have entered the NHL's COVID-19 protocol, just two days after Jeff Carter came out of it.
The Penguins have recalled defenseman P.O Joseph from their farm team in Wilkes-Barre to fill one of those spots opened by the loss of Pettersson and Ruhwedel.
Defenseman Kris Letang already is in the protocol and has been symptomatic, so there has been no target date announced for his return.
Joseph, 22, has three assists in six games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season. He has appeared in 16 NHL games, recording one goal and four assists.
