ALTOONA, Pa. -- Duquesne is escaping the colder November weather in Pittsburgh this weekend as they play in the Virgin Islands as part of the Paradise Jam. The Dukes got off to an ice cold start though as they fell to Northeastern 71-55 Friday night.
The loss moves Duquesne to 1-3 on the season as the Dukes have struggled mightily thus far with an overhauled, inexperienced roster.
Freshman Primo Spears led Duquesne against Northeastern with 15 points while Tre Williams added a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds to provide nearly half of the Dukes offense on the night.
While the weather outside in Saint Thomas was delightful, but inside, it was the shooting of Duquesne that was truly frightful as the Dukes shot 31 percent from the field. Northeastern -- on the other hand -- was 60 percent from the field which ultimately led to the dreadful outcome. In addition to Duquesne's brutal night from the field head coach Keith Dambrot's squad made 4-of-21 shots from behind the three-point line good enough for 19 percent.
The Dukes will play Colorado at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The Dukes will finish out the weekend in Saint Thomas by playing Colorado Saturday before taking on one of Brown, Bradley, Colorado State or Creighton. All games can be seen on ESPN 3.
