The Penguins have had one forward leave the NHL's COVID-19 protocol and another enter it.
Center Jeff Carter went into it for the second time this season -- he missed three games in October after testing positive but remaining asymptomatic -- while Evan Rodrigues returned for practice at PPG Paints Arena Friday morning.
Carter joins a number of teammates on the Covid list. Teddy Blueger, Tristan Jarry, John Marino, Mike Matheson, Dominik Simon and P.O Joseph also are there.
The Penguins, who have not played since Dec. 19, are scheduled to face the Sharks Sunday at 1:08 p.m. at PPG Paints Arena.
They recalled forwards Anthony Angello and Radim Zohorna from their farm team and added them to the taxi squad. Both participated in the practice.
