The Pirates formally announced 14 front office changes for next season, as well as most of their minor-league coaching staffs Wednesday.

The full release of moves can be found here:

On the minor-league side, each affiliate will have five formal coaches: A manager, pitching coach, hitting coach, a development/bench coach and an integrated baseball performance coach. All positions have been filled, with the exception of Greensboro development coach and Bradenton pitching coach (last year’s coach Fernando Nieve, is now with Greensboro, while Greesnboro’s coach, Grant Ford, is not listed).

Miguel Pérez and Kieran Mattison will each move up a level as manager to Class AAA Indianapolis and AA Altoona, respectively. Jonathan Johnston will remain the manager of Class Low-A Bradenton.

Callix Crabee has been hired as Class High-A Greensboro’s manager and will also serve as assistant hitting coordinator. He had spent the last three seasons as the Rangers’ assistant hitting coach and played in the majors with the Padres in 2008.

Mattison will also serve as the outfield and baserunning coordinator.

Among the front office reassignments, Michael Chernow will go from coordinator of player development to assistant director of coaching and player development, Shawn Johnston is going from minor-league hitting operations coordinator to project management coordinator, and Julio Sepulveda is going from an international development fellow to coaching and player development coordinator.

Jim Horner will take over as assistant field coordinator and Chris Truby as minor-league infield coordinator, taking the spots of Jamey Carroll – who is no longer with the organization – and Gary Green, who remains as Indianapolis’ bench coach.

Chad Noble, who has served as the Cubs’ bullpen catcher the last eight years and had worked alongside Pirates director of coaching and player development John Baker, has been hired as a roving catching instructor. Baker expressed his desire to add the position at the “Get Better at Baseball” camp in Bradenton, Fla. in November.

Quietin Brown, who most recently served as vice president of Finch Creek Fieldhouse, an indoor facility in Noblesville, Id., joins as a Florida complex League hitting coach. Johnny Tucker also goes from being hitting development coordinator to minor-league hitting coordinator.

DK Pittsburgh Sports had previously reported on the hirings of special advisor of development coach Caitlyn Callahan, special advisor to pitching development Dewey Robinson and Indianapolis pitching and hitting coaches Dan Meyer and Eric Munson.
