Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster travels to Kansas City for the Wild Card Round matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs Sunday

ALTOONA, Pa. — The Steelers' wide receiver group and offense just got stronger as JuJu Smith-Schuster will be activated for Sunday night’s playoff game against the Chiefs.

Smith-Schuster returned to practice Wednesday and is expected to play a big factor against Kansas City. The elder statesman of the wide receivers, he injured his shoulder against Denver in week five, an injury that required what was thought to be season-ending surgery.

Now, just three months after surgery, Smith-Schuster will be hitting the field once again ahead of schedule.

The Steelers had more good news as rookie running back Najee Harris was removed from the injury report Saturday afternoon.

Harris injured his elbow early in last Sunday’s game against the Ravens and missed a significant portion of the game as he navigated through pain and trying to find a comfortable way to protect the injury while not sacrificing his handle of the football.

He was listed as questionable until being removed Saturday and received a platelet rich plasma injection to help with the healing of the injury.

While Harris is getting his first dose of post-season play in the NFL, he’s no stranger to high-stakes playoff football, having won the national championship twice while at Alabama, including his senior season in 2020.

For Harris, this is one of the few times he’s played for the team who’s listed as the underdog and as our Tom Reed mentioned yesterday, he’s not here to hear any of that.

A healthy Harris and Smih-Schuster will be integral for the Steelers as they look to take down the No. 2 seed Chiefs Sunday night.

In other moves today, it seems as though the Steelers are sticking with punter Pressley Harvin III, as they cut punter Corliss Waitman. Waitman filled in while Harvin missed time following the death of his father.
