ALTOONA, Pa. -- A poor shooting afternoon led to a wire-to-wire 72-52 victory for Dayton over Duquesne Saturday. The Dukes fell to 6-9 with the loss.
Primo Spears, Leon Ayers III and Tre Williams found the score column often for 12 points apiece. Kevin Easley Jr. added 10 for Duquesne. The Flyers never trailed against the Dukes as the team as a whole shot 53 percent, including 8-for-18 from the 3-point arc.
Duquesne on the other hand went 5-of-19 from the arc, finishing at 40 percent.
To make matters worse the Dukes struggled early in the second half, to the tune of managing just 11 points in the first 12 minutes of the second half as the Dayton lead reached 64-39.
