ALTOONA, Pa. -- Cleveland State went to the line 37 times en route to a 75-68 win over Robert Morris Sunday afternoon. The Vikings put home 23 of those in the victory as the Colonials had three players with four fouls and sophomore guard Enoch Cheeks foul out in the contest.
The size and physicality Cleveland State demonstrated wore a shot-handed Robert Morris down at the end of the game as the Colonials were down sophomore guard Kam Ferris who was out with an injury and senior forward Kahliel Spear who missed time during the game with an injury, but did return.
"If we get good shots and we don't make them, that's one thing," head coach Andrew Toole said. "Tonight, I thought we did a better job in playing with purpose and making sure we were connected. When you're intentional about doing the right thing, that's what is going to give you a chance at the end. We had that chance tonight. We just have to keep trying to fight to get better. We also have to have some imagination in our practices. The mindset that we need begins there, and that's where good habits are formed."
The Colonials also turned the ball over 19 times on the afternoon which paved the way to 18 points off turnovers Cleveland State to 10 for Robert Morris.
Junior forward Brandon Stone led the Colonials on the scoreboard with 14 points while Michael Green III and Cheeks added 13 points apiece.
