Pitt's scheduled Saturday game against Boston College had to be postponed due to a massive winter storm that hit Boston Friday evening. The announcement was made by the ACC Friday that the game would be played Sunday:

The Panthers share an identical 3-6 ACC record with the Eagles heading into the weekend. Pitt won the previous matchup 69-67 at the Petersen Events Center on Jan. 8 and is coming off a 64-53 win over Syracuse Tuesday. Beating the Eagles would be the Panthers' first back-to-back ACC wins in over a year.
The game being pushed back did alter Pitt's practice and travel schedules, as there was a scheduled player availability session for the media set for Friday afternoon that was cancelled. But during the scheduled availability it was revealed that recently reinstated Ithiel Horton had practiced with the team Thursday and Friday and would most likely play for the Panthers in their next game.
When Horton rejoined the team for a single game against Louisville on Jan. 5, he contributed with 13 points coming off the bench and hit 3 of 5 three-point shots in a 75-72 loss to the Cardinals. His return to the team for the rest of the season could give Pitt the outside shooting skills it's been missing in several of their losses this season. Currently, Pitt's 40.9 field goal percentage and 29.9 three-point percentage are both the worst rates of the ACC.
• Senior guard Nike Sibande revealed on the Jeff Capel Show on 93.7 The Fan Thursday night that he would be returning to the program for the 2022-2023 NCAA season. Sibande tore his ACL in Pitt's lone exhibition game just one week before the Panthers' November season opener. Sibande's return would give Pitt a key combo guard back in the fold next season as Sibande along with Horton were the team's top two remaining scorers still on the team after the 2020-2021 season. Combined, they've only played one game this season.
