ALTOONA, Pa. -- Robert Morris utilized a 25-point, nine-rebound effort from Kahliel Spear to thump Milwaukee 77-53 Thursday night at the UPMC Events Center.
It was the second home win in a row for the Colonials who improved to 4-16 and 2-9 in the Horizon League. The 24-point margin of victory marks the largest win in the Horizon League since Robert Morris became a member of the conference prior to last season.
"Probably our best performance of the season on the defensive side, in terms of consistency for a full 40 minutes," head coach Andrew Toole said. "I thought we made multiple second efforts a lot of times. Guys guarded the ball better. ... Credit to our guys for the effort they made on that side of the floor. Hopefully that's something we can build on."
His showing against Milwaukee was the fifth such 20-plus point performance on the season for Spear, a senior forward. Joining Spear in double digits was junior guard Michael Green III who notched 13 points.
