The Penguins are adding another undrafted free agent to their prospect pool.
Corey Andonovski, a coveted free agent forward out of Princeton, has chosen the Penguins as his destination. He signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Penguins, Ron Hextall announced on Thursday.
The contract will begin next season and run through the 2023-24 season. Andonovski will join Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on an amateur tryout contract for the remainder of this season without his entry-level deal kicking in yet.
Andonovski, who turns 23 later this month, recently wrapped up his senior season with Princeton after the Tigers were eliminated in the first round of the ECAC playoffs, getting swept in two games by Union. Andonovski had Princeton's lone goal in the deciding game:
Andonovski, a right-handed winger, finished the season as Princeton's leading scorer with 10 goals, 12 assists in 31 games. Six of his 10 goals came on the power play. He was named second-team All-Ivy, as voted on by the six Ivy League head coaches.
Andonovski, 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, played three seasons with Princeton -- his junior season was canceled due to COVID -- and amassed a total of 21 goals and 29 assists in 80 games.
