Steelers re-sign Maulet to two-year deal taken on the South Side (Steelers)

Arthur Maulet

The Steelers have re-signed another key backup, bringing cornerback Arthur Maulet back on a two-year contract.

Maulet, signed as a free agent last season after two seasons with the Jets.

He was used as as slot corner in the nickel and dime defenses, playing 379 defensive snaps in 2021. Maulet recorded 47 total tackles, including five for a loss. According to Pro Football Reference, he allowed 22 completions on 29 pass attempts in his coverage for 294 yards and one touchdown last season.

Maulet makes the second member of the team's secondary to re-sign in the past two days. Friday, the team re-signed safety Miles Killebrew to a two-year deal as well.

Free agency begins Wednesday across the league, while the legal tampering period begins Monday.
