Penguins forward Drew O'Connor has signed a one-year contract with a salary-cap hit of $750,000.
He was scheduled to be a restricted free agent with arbitration rights after this season.
O'Connor's entry-level contract, which is in its final months, carries a cap hit of $925,000 at the NHL level. His minor-league salary is $70,000.
O'Connor has three goals and two assists in 22 games with the Penguins this season, and seven goals and severn assists in 13 games with their farm team in Wilkes-Barre.
He joined the Penguins as an undrafted free agent out of Dartmouth in 2020.
