The NFL released the list of compensatory draft picks it has awarded for the 2022 draft and, as expected, the Steelers received an additional selection at the end of the fourth round.

The Steelers were awarded the 138th pick in the draft, which will be held April 28 through 30 for the loss of outside linebacker Bud Dupree in the offseason.

Dupree, a former first-round draft pick, signed a five-year, $82-million contract as a free agent with the Titans last season, which typically would have qualified the Steelers to receive a third-round pick in return. But Dupree, who was coming off a torn ACL suffered at the end of the 2020 season with the Steelers, missed six games and made just six starts for the Titans.

The Steelers also lost guard Matt Feiler, cornerback Mike Hilton and others to free agency in 2021, but the additions of offensive lineman Joe Haeg and others helped cancel those out.

With the additional fourth-round pick, the Steelers now own seven picks in the upcoming draft.

They are picks 20, 52 and 84 in the first three rounds, while the compensatory selection gives them pick 138. The also own a sixth-round pick from the Chiefs as part of the Melvin Ingram trade, a seventh-round pick from the Jets as part of the deal to acquire linebacker Avery Williamson, and their own seventh-round pick.
