ALTOONA, Pa. -- The transfer portal had not produced a whole lot for Penn State this offseason, but that changed in a big way Tuesday morning.
The Nittany Lions picked up a huge commitment from edge rusher Demeioun Robinson from Maryland, a former 4-star high school prospect who will have a chance to be a major impact player for the Nittany Lions.

Robinson (6-4, 250), who entered the transfer portal in late March, visited Penn State last week. The Lions badly needed an impact edge rusher after the departure of Arnold Ebiketie to the NFL, and Robinson has a chance to be exactly that. He has three years of eligibility, so he figures to be a mainstay on the defense for some time.
The Lions recruited Robinson out of Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg, Md. He was the No. 1 recruit in that state and No. 35 in the nation, according to ESPN.
Robinson chose to stay in state and play for the Terps. He spent only one season there in 2021 and played in all 13 games, making one start. He finished with 19 tackles, 2 sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss.
Penn State had picked up only two commits from the transfer portal this offseason prior to landing Robibnson: wide receiver Mitchell Tinsley (Western Kentucky) and offensive lineman Hunter Nourzad (Colgate).
Penn State will wrap up spring drills with the Blue-White Game on April 23, and there's a good chance the Lions could add more players from the transfer portal as things shake out around the country following spring ball.
Robinson comes with a whole lot of potential, as indicated by this award below from just two years ago:
