Site Stuff: And with this beautiful day, our 2.0 phase is up and running! taken in Downtown (Site Stuff)

Open doors, 224 Fifth Avenue, Downtown, yesterday.

Thank you to everyone.

Really, I'm out of breath after a challenging couple of days, preceded by a challenging couple of months building up to the grand opening of our new Downtown HQ/shop yesterday, that all I've got left is to express even more appreciation than Dali and I already have.

It was beautiful. Perfect on every front. From the immaculate weather to the various sports events that both had plenty of people on the sidewalks, to the steady stream of visitors for all seven hours we were open, to the opportunity to get to put faces to names for the first time in far too long, to those who'd simply roam in off Fifth Avenue and ask 'What do you people do here?' ... to the $2,000-plus in business (!) ... yeah, we're feeling like this'll be worth the effort.

Not every day will be like that one, of course. Today, I'm sure, will be a lot lighter and, honestly, a lot more manageable. Either way, we'll be right back there, from 11 a.m.-6 p.m., to keep right on building up.

So, one final time, thanks to all who contributed the Building Bricks that played such a large role in some of the place's features that won praise. Thanks to our new Downtown neighbors for popping in to introduce themselves or to offer advice. Thanks to the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership for sending a personal representative to see if we'd need anything. And thanks to just ... everyone, really, who came:

Both Taylor and Alex Stumpf had games to cover in the evening, and they came without being asked. So did Chris Carter and Eddie Provident, even though both of them, like me, had been up till 5 a.m. the same day wrapping up our NFL Draft coverage.

And here's a quick hit our partners at WPXI-TV did on the opening, with no less than David Johnson delivering the words:

Thank you again. Sorry for the short Site Stuff this week. Going to bed now, but only after all the weekly data ...

• Our page views for the past week were 506,249. Our most-read original piece was my column on the Steelers drafting Kenny Pickett, at 9,541. Broken down by team, articles on the Steelers brought 20.1%, the Penguins 17.8%, the Pirates 15.9%, Pitt 2.9%, and Penn State 0.6%. Funny, but it's almost as if it matters to our readers that we get full access to Major League Baseball clubhouses.
