Pitt's athletic department released the kickoff times for the first three games of the 2022 football season Thursday afternoon:
• Sept. 1 vs. West Virginia: 7 p.m.
• Sept. 10 vs. Tennessee: 3:30 p.m.
• Sept. 17 at Western Michigan: 7:30 p.m.
Week 1's 'Backyard Brawl' will be the first rendition of the historic rivalry since the two teams met on Nov. 25, 2011, and will be televised on ESPN.
The Sept. 10 matchup against Tennessee will be televised on ABC. In their meeting last year, the Panthers beat the Volunteers, 41-34.
Pitt travels to Kalamazoo, Mich., to play Western Michigan, which will be televised on ESPNU. Last season, Western Michigan beat Pitt, 44-41, the most points given up by the Panthers all year.
