New Pitt running back C'Bo Flemister in action versus South Florida

The train from South Bend to Oakland made another stop when former Notre Dame running back C'Bo Flemister made his decision to transfer to Pitt, a source confirmed to DK Pittsburgh Sports Wednesday. He joins linebacker Shayne Simon who transfered to Pitt back in January.

Flemister, a 5'11" 201 pound redshirt junior from Georgia, was once a highly touted recruit and solid rotational player for the Irish. However, he was suspended for the 2021 season after fleeing the scene of a single-car accident. Prior to this incident, Flemister rushed for 471 yards and 10 touchdowns and also caught three passes for 49 yards, most of that coming during his sophomore season in 2020.

He joins a very crowded running back room that includes Pitt's top three rushers from last season -  junior Israel Abanikanda, sophomore Rodney Hammond Jr., and senior Vincent Davis along with 2022 Ed Conway Award Winner (most improved player during spring practices), Daniel Carter. New offensive coordinator, Frank Cignetti, emphasizes the running game, so Flemister will provide insurance in the event of injuries.

DKPS will provide a comprehensive breakdown of the running back position next Thursday, June 23, as part of our 2022 Pitt roster analysis. That series kicks off tomorrow with a look at the quarterbacks.
