Mazeroski honored with Yankees in town taken at PNC Park (Pirates)

Bill Mazeroski throws out the first pitch Tuesday.

Not that it needed to be confirmed, but Bill Mazeroski is the Pirates' secret weapon against the Yankees.

The Hall-of-Fame second baseman was in attendance at PNC Park for his bobblehead doll night to watch the Pirates take on and beat the Yankees, 5-2.

Mazeroski got the day started by throwing the opening pitch:

""

"It’s a great moment," Mazeroski said. "Just to get back to Pittsburgh. I’m in Philly now. To be back here and throw out a first pitch, it’s a fantastic feeling. The fans have always been good to me and it’s been a fantastic career here."

Of course, Mazeroski's claim to fame is his walk-off home run to beat the Yankees in game seven of the 1960 World Series.

"I get thank yous all the time," Mazeroski said about the homer. "Now Yankees fans that were young come up and say they forgave me for what I did, so that’s nice."
