RICHMOND, Va. -- When I was in Pittsburgh a couple weeks ago for the DKPS eighth anniversary shindig, I sat down to talk with the man himself about our previously-touched upon idea for a huge, updated version of the Cartoon Canon book.
Consensus was, that for the sake of completeness, we needed to mix a little bit more of the bad with all of that good. The Tim Tebow, the Sid Bream, the David Volek types. The ones that really sting, just to make the book a TRUE history of Pittsburgh sports.
To that end, I’m excited to kick off what I’m calling… Misery Month! I’ll dedicate all of August to just such memories… because, let’s face it, August can be kinda miserable, sports-wise at least; the Pirates are usually long out of it, preseason football is tedious at best, and the Penguins are months away. I’ve got a couple of fun ideas and surprises planned along the way, so what better time to commiserate in the comments and just embrace the suck? I truly hope you dig it!
