Staff Picks: It's all on the offense taken in Cleveland (Steelers)

CLEVELAND BROWNS

Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb.

CLEVELAND -- Each week, our football staff at DK Pittsburgh Sports predicts the Steelers' result, along with sharing a few related thoughts.

Chris Halicke (0-2): On a short week, I am really concerned the offense doesn't have enough time to make a dramatic turn and become even adequate enough to support a T.J. Watt-less defense. They had just one practice this week. So did the Browns, but one session on the South Side isn't enough for Mitch Trubisky and Matt Canada to fix the number of problems on offense. Cleveland is hampered with injuries, even with Myles Garrett popping up in Tuesday's injury report with a neck issue. However, regarding the offense's ability to put up points, I'm now at a point where I'll believe it when I see it. Browns, 20-13

Ramon Foster (0-2): Thursday night’s a great time to run the ball. Keep it simple. Wear ‘em down. Nick Chubb’s the best back in the NFL, and Kareem Hunt’s right there. You can’t say the same for the Steelers’ running game. Browns, 21-18

Matt Williamson (0-2): Originally I thought this would be a very low scoring grind-it-out type of game and that very well could be the case. But I think the Steelers offense is going to be more aggressive than the first two weeks of the season and some big plays could ensue. Picking a winner for this game was very difficult however. Going against a home team on Thursday night usually isn't my style, but the Steelers offensive line (see my latest article!) should be able to handle Cleveland's front with a lot of double teams towards Garrett. Steelers, 24-23

Eddie Provident (1-1): I don't have enough confidence in this offense to say that they'll figure it out against a solid Browns defense. I fully expect the Steelers' defense to bend and not break, but unless they're able to hold Cleveland's offense to single digit points, it won't be enough to make up for Canada an Trubisky. Browns, 14-6

Dejan Kovacevic (0-2): It’s about the offense. Either the Steelers suddenly start running effectively, or they suddenly start throwing downfield as if they can and/or want. That’s it. One of those two has to happen. On a short week. With one practice. With the same QB and OC. Browns, 22-6
