CRANBERRY, Pa. -- This last road trip was pretty kind to the Penguins, with the Penguins taking five of six possible points in Washington, Montreal and Toronto.
I know a lot of players often look forward to those trips to Montreal and Toronto, with those games being a homecoming (or pretty close to it) for a number of guys on the team.
For this week's Survey Says, I thought it would be fun to go around the Penguins' locker room and ask as many players as I can the same question: What is your favorite road city?
Marcus Pettersson: "I think going to Washington is fun, we've got so many fans there, a lot of support. I think we get a lot of support out west as well. I mean Anaheim and L.A. and those places we get a lot of fans. But one place that's kind of unique I feel is Montreal, just because of the history and everything. Just the classic history they've got in that building, it's a good place to play."
Ryan Poehling: "I love Vancouver. Vancouver is always fun, and we always seem to get a couple days out there so I love enjoying time there. Then I'd say Florida, the hotel that we stay at there's on the beach and it's a fun time too, and I think we get a few days there as well. Those two spots, I mean it's sunny and Vancouver's a beautiful city. Those two for sure."
Brock McGinn: "Montreal, because I grew up a Montreal fan. I think it's just fun to go there. It's a different culture, to just go to a place that speaks a different language. It's fun."
Bryan Rust: "Detroit's up there just because I'm from there. Then obviously it's always fun to go to New York City. Madison Square Garden is a pretty tough venue to beat."
Rickard Rakell: "I like Vegas, just because it feels like it's always a great atmosphere. They have loud music, great songs for warm ups."
Kris Letang: "Montreal, just because it's my hometown and I grew up watching the Canadiens."
Kasperi Kapanen: "There's a lot, but I think right now probably Toronto is pretty cool, just going back to Toronto and seeing some familiar faces in the cities."
Danton Heinen: "I'd say Vancouver because that's where I'm from. A lot of family and friends are there."
Brian Dumoulin: "New York City. One, my sister lives there so I get to visit her. They have great restaurants and great wine stores and just it's a cool place to visit. Living there's a different animal, but visiting is cool."
Sidney Crosby: "Montreal. Yeah, that's a great, great environment there. I grew up watching them. It's not too far from home. It's a cool place to play.
Tristan Jarry: "Probably Vegas, just because of all the attractions that they have. It's fun, they have a good crowd. Obviously I think just playing at home we have some of the best fans in the league, and just being able to play in front of them every game I think is awesome."
Mark Friedman: "Toronto, just because that's where I'm from."
Jason Zucker: "Vegas, because it's my hometown."
P.O Joseph: "I can't really say much about the NHL. But Charlotte was nice. I feel like it's somewhere you go and play with the boys and it's a little farther from the area that we usually play. We'd always go there for the weekend, so it's always fun to get away from the area that we've always played."
Jake Guentzel: "I like Vegas, just because the atmosphere and the rink. think there's nothing like that rink. Just the loud noise, the music's blaring, it's my favorite."
Casey DeSmith: "Montreal. I grew up a Habs fan, my whole family is diehard Habs. It's just a great atmosphere. Montreal loves hockey and the Habs, so that's definitely my favorite to play in for a building."
