RICHMOND, Va. -- Danny Murtaugh doesn’t hold the record for most victories as skipper of the Pittsburgh Baseball Club, boasting only a second best 1,115 wins to Fred Clarke’s 1,422. But it’s not difficult to imagine that he might have found himself atop that list, had he not left the position (usually citing concerns about his health), only to return to manage the team again, four times between 1957 and 1976!
